Future of Australian Physics Forum

The AIP Summer Meeting organisers would like to announce a special session- Future of Australian Physics Forum. 

The recent downsizing of physics departments at universities and national labs is a concerning trend with some universities reducing or removing physics education entirely. Students, school teachers, academics, and industry partners are encouraged to engage in this conversation and brainstorm ways in which physics may be recognised for its critical importance to Australia – today and into the future.

We invite you to join us on Tuesday 2nd December at the Hope Theatre at the University of Wollongong to engage in a community panel and conversation. This forum will be hosted by Professor Martin White from the University of Adelaide.

Join us for a fantastic morning of networking at the Women* in Physics Networking Breakfast! We warmly welcome women* allies, gender fluid, trans, and non-binary individuals to this event. This event will be a great opportunity for delegates of the AIP Summer meeting to meet and chat with other women* and allies (Men are welcome at this event.).

We are pleased to announce that some former AIP WiP lecturers will join us for a breakfast panel to discuss the impact a national lecture tour had on their careers and to discuss challenges they continue to face in Physics, as well as strategies to overcome these challenges.
